Club Owner/Director, Kevin Lane, has been involved in all aspects of volleyball for over 30 years.  As an outside hitter and setter at U.C. Davis and Cal Poly Pomona, he was an intense player and student of the game.  He was the Assistant Men’s Coach at Cal Poly the year following graduation.

Over the years, Kevin has conducted youth clinics and has coached for others at their clinics and camps, both indoors and at the beach.  He has also been a director of beach volleyball tournaments as well as having served as an assistant beach tournament director during the 1990’s and early 2000’s.  He can still be seen playing at the local Orange County beaches on the weekend.

In addition, Kevin has refereed the sport of volleyball on many levels.  He has refereed at the collegiate club level, junior high and elementary levels, as well as the City of Irvine adult league Open Division level.

Club coaching experience includes Beach Cities Volleyball Club Boys in the mid 1990’s; Adam Johnson Volleyball Club Boys 14-1’s in 2003-05, Orange Coast Volleyball Club Boys 18-1 team in 2005, and Main Beach Laguna Volleyball Club from 2006-present.  Kevin is a USA Volleyball Certified Coach through USA Volleyball's Coaching Accredidation Program (CAP) and continues to further his coaching education.

Having discovered a need for additional, competitive volleyball clubs in Orange County over the last 6 years, Kevin started Main Beach Laguna VBC.  His philosophies of club volleyball can be found on the “About Us” page of this website.

Kevin is currently coaching Main Beach Laguna VBC’s Boys 18’s Team.
